Can you export your AI's memory?

Both ChatGPT and Claude let you look at and delete what they've saved about you in settings. What you'll find is a short set of notes the assistant wrote for itself, not your actual records: no dated log of meals, no list of to-dos, no files.

Why that matters

• Switching costs you. Move to another AI and you start again.
• You can't check it. A summary can be wrong, and you may not notice.
• It isn't a backup. If the account goes, the memory goes with it.

Keep the records yourself
